Becoming a registered massage therapist was a process that began many years ago when I was younger and more impetuous. I enrolled in all the prerequisite courses and attended a few weeks and decided that I needed to pursue other things at that time. That was more than ten years ago and I am thrilled that I waited to pursue such an extraordinary profession. Fortunate enough to have traveled, attended university and even managed guests as a sea kayak guide on the west coast, I then came full circle and graduated from the Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic in Toronto and passed the OSCE exams administered by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) in the fall of 2005.
From the moment of registration forward I have worked and continued educating myself in this amazing profession. Being a massage therapist continues to provide me with a sense of discovery as I learn ever more about this amazing body we use as a vehicle for our daily existence. Myofascial techniques, cranial sacral and yoga teacher training are examples of my continued education. It is my personal goal to offer the best level of care and consideration to each client. Through active listening, careful reflection, assessment, treatment plan development and practical delivery in a caring environment, it is my belief and experience that the goal will be achieved.
Clients are encouraged to participate in their treatment. Feeling comfortable and confident that letting me know what is happening in your body is helpful, appropriate and further develops rapport based on trust, understanding, and communication.
Your feedback is key to receiving the treatment you deserve!
